A Keep Gretna Tidy campaign was launched on 17th of April. Involving the council, local schools, businesses and community groups, activities will be undertaken to highlight the issue and reduce the amount of litter and vandalism seen locally.
Local school children will come up with the campaign’s main poster design and groups and residents will be involved in a one-off litter-pick in Crickmere and Central Avenue parks to show that people feel strongly enough to go out there and clean things up! A senior council officer will also be having a walk-and-talk with residents around some of the area’s identified “grot-spots” in an effort to get them cleaned up.
The campaign is part of some wider projects in the Gretna Area Action Plan, which aims to improve the overall appearance and facilities in the area. We always welcome people who want to help play their part and take positive action within this partnership for local improvements. Please give Ged Acton a call to join in or find out more.
